"Bredzon Forever" Jean-Luc Cramatte
PUBLISHED BY IDPURE
200 pages, 16.5 x 24, relié (Anglais/Français/Allemand)
Most are anonymous and have never worn the bredzon, the famous Fribourgeois costume. They agreed to pose in the lobby of a shopping center in a large urban area, far, far away from the Alpine landscapes of the Swiss Canton of Fribourg, where the costume was traditionally worn. For the project of Jean-Luc Cramatte, participants responded to the question “what if the bredzons disappeared?”
The responses were unequivocal: “bredzons must absolutely continue to exist!” Underlying this statement is the fear of loss of identity overtaken by globalization. In this telling artistic endeavor celebrating the “bredzon forever,” writers, artists and designers, all responded to the call of Jean-Luc Cramatte to propose their views of the future of the bredzon.
